Spicy Pecan Walleye

Spicy Pecan Walleye

The nut crust holds together this mild fish. The hot sauce gives it just the right amount of spice.

  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1 Tablespoon hot sauce, or to taste
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1/3 Cup Oatmeal
  • 1 Cup Pecans, ground
  • 4 Walleye Fillets
  • Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

1.  Add the hot sauce to beaten egg and mix. Spread oatmeal and pecans into a pie pan, and mix. Dip the walleye fillets first into the egg mixture, then press into the pecans.

2. In a large skillet, heat butter and oil over medium-high heat. Carefully add the fillets and cook 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
