Walla Walla Grilled Havarti Tosti

Walla Walla Grilled Harvarti Tosti is the ultimate grown up grilled cheese – and easy to make!


  • 1 Medium Walla Walla Onion, chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Package Castello Havarti, shredded
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter, room temperature
  • 8 Slices Artisan Bread


1. Heat oil in a skillet. Add onions, sauté until caramelized on low heat; about 25

minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

2. Lightly butter one side of each bread slice. Heat large skillet over medium heat. Place

two slices of bread in skillet. Top with one quarter of the Walla Walla onions, a

handful of shredded Havarti and top with another slice of bread butter side up.

3. Cook sandwiches, flipping once; about 2 minutes per side. Push sandwiches aside

slightly in skillet. Sprinkle about a tablespoon of shredded Havarti onto skillet. Lay

one of the sandwiches directly onto the cheese. Repeat with other sandwich on both sides.

4. Heat another 2 minutes per side, until the cheese has slightly browned onto the bread.
